エイズ・ウォーク アート・オークション

日時:5/15 (土) 夜 5:30 – 9:30 pm

An art collective called the Gotham Nomads made up of painters, photographers and filmmakers are holding a charity art sale commemorating the New York AIDS Walk Foundation’s 25th year anniversary. Organizers of the event, Victor and TranQue , say they are amazed with the AIDS/HIV statistics. “ Even with all the information we have the number of those infected with AIDS continues to climb.” Kurius a photographer of Gotham Nomads says, “That’s why we put together this art benefit we call ego.”

“I’ve lost a few love ones to AIDS during the 80’s, that’s why I’m involved” says Brook’Naum, a writer whose work is on sale in the show. “It doesn’t seem like such an illness could exist in this day and age. We are a community. I couldn’t just sit back. I felt like I had to do something.”

The works in the sale are paintings, drawings and photographs that illustrate the mystery and beauty of Gotham’s diverse community. The Funds raised from this event will go to the GMHC. GMHC is the world’s first and leading provider of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and advocacy. Building on decades of dedication and expertise, an organization who understands the reality of HIV/AIDS and empower a healthy life for all. The GMHC is a non-profit organization.
