Founding Dharma Artist Jean Hugues Miredin, for many years now a veritable heartthrob in the theatres and press of Scandinavia, returns to give us a taste of what we've been missing. He premieres one solo for himself and one for collaborator and fellow Dharma Founding Artist Sita Mani. Sharing the bill is a new group work by Dutch choreographer Marijke Eliasberg.

The frightening world of Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Anthony Hopkins, Vampira, Elvira, Linda Blair, and Glen Close can be relived in this Horror Acting Workshop. You will have the opportunity to transform yourself into a vampire, werewolf, mad scientist, genetically mutated monster, and psycho...all in a safe environment. CRS presents the new work X2 by multiple Bessie Award winner Yoshiko Chuma (Artistic Director, the school of hard knocks) in collaboration with visiting artist Shirotama Hitsujiya (Artistic Director, YUBIWA Hotel and one of "The World’s 100 Most Influential Japanese Women," Newsweek Japan).

Human beings freeze themselves into blocks of ice, and seek the spark that will set them free again. A rising star of the Japanese theatre world, Tokyo-based Hitsujiya makes sexy theatrical confections that toy with traditional Japanese notions of feminity, eroticism, and romantic/sexual relationships. Chuma has been making mathematically precise conceptual dance performances from her NYC base for 30 years. They are two Japanese female artists living abroad...with little else in common. This collaboration takes teach out of her element. Together, they craft a violent, raw, erotically-charged dance/theatre psychodrama carved down to its mysterious, metaphysical core, an enigma wrapped inside a...dumpling. The performers include Yoshiko Chuma, Shirotama Hitsujiya, Ray Roy, Lincoln Alking, and Kristine Lee. Rie Ono will create the lighting installation. Ray Roy is a terrestrial human video artist currently contemplating universal consciousness.

Old man Molemo (Johnny Simons of the Hip Pocket Theatre of Fort Worth, TX) and his two beautiful daughters (Lake and Lorca Simons) perform a rare evening of pantomime, dance, puppetry, and song. Without Johnny Simons, there would be no CRS. Chris Pelham would likely never have become an artist. Johnny is one of the greatest living artists, and I highly, highly encourage you to see this sweet, soulful, unique ode to art and family. You may never get another chance to see him live in NYC.
