Live Jazz Concert by Duschamp
Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 7:30 –In conjunction with the CRS Gallery Artist Way program and the opening reception for the exhibition “NewP” and “NUU” by artist Kyoko Takei, CRS is pleased to present a live performance by jazz band Duschamp, led by Shigeto Kamata.
Admission is free of charge and wine will be available by donation.

Duschamp plays every Tuesday night at "KANBI" restaurant, a Japanese Ramen shop which is owned by drummer Shigeto Kamada.
Jazz pianist and composer Eishin Nose resides in New York. He hails from Hokkaido, Japan where he began studying classical piano at age of 4. By the age 10, he was mastering the clarinet and playing in Hokkaido, Otaru which began years of performance with orchestra. At age 19, he was working as a professional pianist.
In 1992, Eishin moved to California to study at Foothill College where he worked as the pianist in the jazz big band. He eventually joined the Fun Fair, jazz vocal group which toured and performed in many jazz festivals around the San Francisco Bay Area. We made one CD which later obtained the 18th Down Beat Award in 1995.
In 1995, Eishin moved to New York City. He enrolled in Mannes College of Music and The New School where he obtained a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. While at Mannes and New School, he studied with Phil Markowiz, Richie Beirach, Jackie Byard and Barry Harris. He also has been studying with a classical pianist with Herman Diaz.
Eishin has since collaborated with established musicians including James Cammack(b), Mat Wilson(ds), Greorie Maret(hmc), Yosuke Inoue(b), Eliot Zigmund(ds), Jeff Williams(ds), Taro Koyama(ds), Satoishi Takeishi(ds) Dave Ambrosi(b), Joe Morello(ds), Pheeroan Aklaff(ds), Lonnie Plaxico(b), David Smith(tp), Shunzo Ohno(tp), Fukushi Tainaka(ds),Take Toriyama(ds), Yoshi Waki(b) ,Yutaka Uchida(ds), Danny Zanker(b), Noriko Ueda(b), Tim Armacost(ts),Rikiya Higashihara(ds), Satoshi Inoue(g), Tsutomu Nakai(g), Richard Lanham(vo), Yoseyama Sumiko(vo),Thomson Kneeland(b), Jacob Varmus(tp), Marco Panascia(b),Travis Sullivan(as), Sylvia Cuenaca(ds),Kenji Robson(b), Masa Ikeda(tb), and many others.
"Here Now Hear" is Eishin's first album. It was released in 2001 featuring Yosuke Inoue on bass, Mat Wilson on drums and Gregorie Maret on harmonica. One of his compositions "Remeber to Remember" from his album was featured on international television channel "News Express FCI in US and JSTV "FNN NEWS" in Europe daily starting in 2002 and 2004.
In 2003, he join the group called J-yorkers as a pianist as well as arranger and composer. Mitsuko and J-yorkers released Blue Canary from Nippon Crown. The J-Yorkers included Mitsuko, Yosuke Inoue, Koyaya Taro, Satoshi Inoue, Dominick Farinacci and Diron Holloway. This album was awarded the Best Album for the 95th Annual Gold Disc Award by the popular Japanese jazz magazine Swing Journal.
The J-Yorkers aslo released piano trio album "Home Sweet Home" in December, 2003 from M&I. Eishin released solo album "Burning Blue" in 2006, special guest with Take Toriyama and Yutaka Uchida on percussion. Eishin Nose released piano trio album"INSIDE OUT DREAM" on March 1st, 2009. Eishin also join many other projects as a sidemen such as James Commack(b), Dany zanker(b), Yutaka Uchida(ds), Brooklyn big band, Sumiko Yoseyama(vo), and Satru Uchiayam(g)'s project as a producer. He is touring Japan twice a year and playing in NY city at various clubs like one of fame jazz club in the world "BLUE NOTE" and most cutting edge clubs in the town"stone" and Knitting Factory, etc.
Beside playing jazz, he has been played Rhapsody in Blue with his home town Orchestra in Japan in 2005. He also collaborated with a fashion show playing free improvisation at TOKYO COLLECTION 2009.

Born in Fukuoka, Japan, Yoshi Waki began to play jazz bass at age of 20. Over the next few years, he emerged as a sought-after accompanist, with regular appearances at jazz clubs in Tokyo. In 1996, he moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, where he was given Outstanding Performer Award. After graduation, he was on the tour for two years with the National Tour Company of Fosse, a Tony Awarded musical show. His rhythm-section mate was Bobby Economou, former drummer of rock group Blood Sweat & Tears. Yoshi currently lives in Brooklyn, New York and plays and tours with various groups in the city. Appearance includes some of the major venues and well known club in the city such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Blue Note, Knitting Factory, etc.
Yoshi performed with Ron Affif, George Benson, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Gary Burton, Big Apple Circus, Mike Clark, Jimmy Cobb, Hal Crook, Dan Zanes and Friends, Barry Finnerty, Al Foster, George Garzone, Deborah Harry, Randy Johnston, Victor Jones (A.K.A. Culter Versy), Angelique Kidjo, Simon Kirke (Bad Company), John Lithgow (Perfectly Ridiculous), Joe Lovano, Rick Margitza, Ben Monder, Shunzo Ohno, Nashua Symphony Orchestra, National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Tiger Okoshi, John Scofield, Bob Sheppard, Travis Sullivan’s Bjorkestra, Frank Tiberi (Woody Herman Bigband), Suzanne Vega, Bill Ware Vibes, Frank Wes, Lenny White, Harry Whitaker, Jack Wilkins, Phil Wilson, Chihiro Yamanaka, Eliot Zigmund, etc.
Among the recordings he did, Catch that Train! (Dan Zanes and Friends) won the 49th Annual Grammy Award for Best Musical Album for Children, and After Hours (Chihiro Yamanaka) won the 23rd Japan Gold Disc Award for Jazz Album of the Year.
